Description

Ylang-ylang is a tree, with evergreen foliage, pruned to 2-3 m high in cultivation but can reach 25-30 m in its natural environment of origin.

It has a widely spreading crown. Its growth is very rapid in the first years since it can reach 2 to 5 meters per year.

The alternate leaves, entire, leathery, 8-20 × 4-8 cm, bright green on the upper side, are arranged very regularly along the branches, usually in the same plane. The veins are very marked.
